Documentation / The numbers
Accuracy and known limits
Why our totals can differ from TikTok’s, and by how much we try to stay close.
What we aim for
Our daily totals are built from the gifts we record, so they are our numbers. They should land very close to what TikTok shows for the same creator and day, but we don’t copy TikTok’s figure and we don’t adjust ours to match it.
We don’t promise a perfect match. If you compare us with TikTok, expect a small difference, usually a fraction of a percent, and sometimes more on a rough night.
Why totals can differ
| Cause | What happens |
|---|---|
| Missed messages | If our connection drops for a moment, a few gifts can slip by. We run two connections per live to reduce this. |
| Update timing | TikTok’s own ranking refreshes in steps. Compare at the same minute and the gap shrinks. |
| Guest windows | A gift to someone else in the window counts 30% for the host, unless that creator is set to 0%. At 0% the gift leaves the list and the diamond total. |
| Day boundaries | A gift near the reset can land on one side for TikTok and the other side for us. |
| Late adjustments | TikTok can adjust totals after a live, for example for refunds or removed gifts. |
| Rounding | Money values are rounded for display. |
How we keep the gap small
- Every gift is stored raw, so a rule can be corrected later and totals recalculated.
- Combos are deduplicated by TikTok’s own message id, never by guesswork.
- Counting rules are tested against real captured lives, so a rule that drifts shows up before it reaches the ranking.
